Unpredictable Shankar, unexpected Shooting

Well, they said that Shankar would have his next shooting schedule at AVM and then, it was reported that another scene would be shot at Vandikaaran Street in Guindy but the Sivaji unit suddenly landed at R V Nagar near Shenoy Nagar to shoot a scene at the Government staff quarters. It was a pleasant surprise to the local people who had gathered there the moment the shooting equipment arrived.

Imagine their amazement when the superstar himself arrived with full make-up and in white trousers and green shirt! Of course, the security was there cordoning off the curiosity seekers and the hangers on. The terrace of every block was crowded to the brim, people craning their necks to have a look at their icon. They shot there the entire day, breaking the schedule into two sessions. The local people are talking about nothing but Rajinikanth.

Sivaji - Central Station scene shot again

Superstar Rajinikanth and Producer AVM Saravanan are very happy with the way Shankar is making Sivaji. Everything according to schedule and budget (that is 20 crores!) and Shankar is damn meticulous in planning and execution. For his 11 assistants and other technicians, it is as good as attending a university in film making. If there is one thing that bothers Shankar, it's the prying eyes of the media.

News somehow leaks and you find the media at the shooting spot. In fact, the Central Station shoot in which Rajini appears in Billa get-up was shot again because a still got leaked. Now Shankar doesn't tell even the unit where the next day's shooting will be held or what the scene will be. He reveals it only in the morning of the working day. It's not that Shankar is media shy but he definitely wants to keep the suspense factor high.

Sivaji:10 crores for Telugu rights

Sivaji, one of the most expected Tamil movies of all times is shaping up well. The second schedule of shooting is going on at a good pace. Now talks of dubbing and other rights have started. N.V.Prasad who has been regular in taking up Shankar’s movies and dubbing them in Telugu had approached the director for a project under his production.

But with Sivaji’s chance coming his way, Shankar has requested Prasad to be patient for some more time. As a return of favor, the dubbing rights of Sivaji seem to have been sold to Prasad for a very less quote. The rights have been sold for approximately a minimal 10 crores. Another distributor, Bharat Jain has extended his financial support to Prasad.

Rajini confirms three more movies.

In the meantime, Murugadoss in an interview to a leading daily in Chennai has confirmed the news of him talking to the Superstar. Rajinikanth after watching Ghajini had congratulated Murugadoss for coming up with a good movie. He had also expressed his wish to act under the director.

On top of this, Rajini has told Murugadoss that he plans to act in another 3 movies after Sivaji, one of which would be with him. Murugadoss is extremely thrilled. Why not, when one gets the chance to direct the two major Superstars of South India.

Kollywood pundits expect the other two movies to go to K.S.Ravikumar and K.Balachander. Ravikumar for being patient about working with the Superstar and Balachander, because of Rajini’s wish to start and end his illustrious career with his mentor’s movie.

Sivaji shooting at Pachaippas College, Chennai

Kodambakkam is abuzz with speculations that former Miss World Aishwarya Rai has given a 30-day call sheet for Sivaji. These speculations are not ill-founded. Getting a call sheet from Aishwarya Rai is not a big thing for Shankar. Was he not the man who introduced Ash to the tinsel town, after all? One diva who would be bothered about the developments is Shreya. Will not her role be dwarfed if Ash comes in? Some reports maintain that if Ash comes in, Shreya will be relegated to the second or third heroine status.

To maintain secrecy, special permission was got from the college administration and the shoot was held in early morning hours – 3am to 6am. Superstar who is meant for his punctuality was there exactly at 3am. Some scenes related to him was taken inside the college campus.
